About Us

Background

Unionville Residents Association is a non-partisan association founded in 1974 to protect the interests of the Unionville community. For the history of the URA and the issues that drove the organisation to be formed and maintained please read URA Origins. We are registered with the Province of Ontario and the City of Markham. Our boundary covers Markham’s Ward 3. We host monthly members meetings with the exception of summer. We also host all candidates meetings at elections for all levels of governments. We keep our members informed through newsletters and email broadcasts. We engage in numerous community and municipal issues, inform and educate our members on multiple topics of interest, advocate for positions taken by our membership and ensure our member’s opinions are known to government officials and staff. Our membership card and our Constitution provide more information. On February 3rd 2022, we were very sad to lose past president Alick Siu. For a reminder of Alick’s many contributions to the URA, please click on Alick Siu.
